Screen Monitoring Browser Extension Installation

Overview

Genfin supports screen monitoring for agents using a Google Chrome Extension. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for adding the extension to each agent's browser.


Distribution

Google Admin lets you choose how to distribute your extensions to your organization. Your agents need this extension on their browsers. If you want to start with one or two agents, you can select them individual and continue with the below instructions. You can also select a Google Group that you've already created. Finally, you can select your entire organization.


You need to decide on the distribution before installing the extension. For instance, if you decide on two individuals, you will need to walk through these instructions twice, once for each of them. If you decide on a group, you only need to walk through these instructions one time. If you choose your entire organization, the extension will be installed and running in the background on every user's browser.


Most organizations choose to create a Google Group for their agents and install it using that group. This choice reduces the repetitive steps of installing the extension on each agent's account individually and avoids installing the extension on every browser in the organization.


Installation Instructions

Let's walk through installing the extension in your Google Admin account.

  1. Log into Google Admin: https://admin.google.com/.
  2. Navigate to "Chrome browser" > "Apps & extensions".
  3. Choose the appropriate set of people for distributing the extension.
  4. Click the yellow plus button at the bottom right.
  5. Click the third icon to add a "Add Chrome app or extension by ID".

  1. Type in the Chrome Extension ID from your Genfin's Organization page.

  1. Click on the extension to see the Settings for it.
  2. Change "Installation policy" to "Force Install".
  3. Change "Permissions and URL access" to "Allow all permissions".

  1. Click the "Save" button at the top right.

The extension will now be distributed to each user's browser within a few minutes.
